Ah, the good life in Chicago
Friday, May 20th, 2005Well, it’s drawing to a close, but the past 2 weeks in Chicago have definately been cool.
Chicago is an awesome city, the people I’m working with are all awesome, and the work itself sucks balls. Kidding, even the work itself is not all that bad. I’ve been translating documents into Spanish for some odd unexplained reason. Why I had to be sent to Chicago to do this, I honestly have no idea, but I’ll take it!
We spent the weekend touring downtown Chicago, which is awesome btw (did I mention it was awesome?). Some of the coolest skyscrapers, and enough architectural beauties to put Montreal’s measly skyline to shame.
Amongst the interesting discoveries, we have:
- the discovery of a 7-foot-tall tourist chick, who I tried getting close enough to for the pic (unfortunately she was bending over, but this girl was GIGANTIC)

- the shoeshine scam; this guy just came up to Kyle and started shining his shoes while talking about his prosthetic leg. 5 minutes and 20$ later, Kyle was visibly upset, and didn’t recover his dry humor until he gulped down his second beer 6 hours later (8$ US per shoe shined, go figure).

- the crazy hip hop jumper. This guy was part of a hip hop show downtown, and ends up flipping over  like 5 of us. Needless to say, I was shitting my pants. This pic is nuts.

- the walk on water. I temporarily became Jesus in Chicago’s Memorial Park.

- my first Hooters adventure. We just HAD to gather the girls for a quick picture. ![]()
- 15$ martinis on the 96th floor of the 2nd highest building in chicago

- the fat fairy lady @ the Pier

And last but not least, our own Chicago crew:
